Fusing & Slumping
Glass is a fabulous medium
to work in because of it's limitless possibilities. It has great
challenges with the disciplines and processes required to master the
inherent properties of glass.
I like the precision you
can achieve with glass forms but use depth and light to achieve a
"dimension" in my work that can only be done with glass. I try to
express a personal style that shows the transparent depth of the glass
to tease the eye and trick the mind.
With the unique properties
of glass, light is absorbed and reflected which gives it a fluidity and
motion. My work is a partnership of spontaneity with an emphasis on
structure and technique. I try to show simplicity with very close
attention to detail, color and motion.

Sabina Boehm
Sabina Boehm’s natural
talent has always drawn her to the arts. In Seattle in the mid 90’s as
the Borosilicate art glass movement gained momentum, she fell into an
apprenticeship. This medium has great feminine appeal and a meditative
creation process that has kept her blowing for the past 9 years.

Josh Mazet
Josh Mazet received his BFA
in Ceramics from the University of Oregon in 1999. After graduating he
was invited into the Fine Arts Department as a resident artist. For
three years he maintained a studio, instructed the the U of ‘s wood
fired ceramics class which included students and community members, and
led 15 fires in the university’s Anagama Kiln. It was during this time
Josh was introduced to lampworking boroscilicate. His work in ceramics
gave him a understanding and comfort with flame, atmospheres, kilns, and
the chemistry of glass. This compounded with the similarities of the
medium, allowed for a smooth and rapid learning of a new medium.

Linda Steider
I have always loved glass.
It didn't occur to me that I could work with it as a medium until a
friend introduced me to kilnformed glass in 1996. After 20 years as a
fiber artist, I sold my studio contents to take up my newfound “glass
passion.” Color is an essential part of my work, as is having fun and
taking time to play with this versatile medium. Nature is my primary
source for inspiration, and my garden a close second. Rather than
stating my intention for each piece or series, I find it fascinating to
let the viewers derive their own meaning, based on their life
experience. This can sometimes be different from my intended portrayal,
but serves as a reminder that we all see the same circumstance or image
differently.
